Summary

San Luis Ranch Lot 7 is a proposed amendment to the San Luis Ranch Specific Plan to build about 276 multifamily homes on a vacant 9.59-acre lot at 1675 Dalidio Drive, at the corner of Froom Ranch Way, in place of commercial space that the specific plan had assigned to the parcel. The amendment would reduce the amount of commercial development planned on the lot.

San Luis Ranch is the master-planned district on the former Dalidio farmland between Madonna Road, US 101 and Froom Ranch Way. The city approved the specific plan in July 2017 for up to 580 homes, 150,000 square feet of commercial space, 100,000 square feet of office space and a 200-room hotel, with part of the site kept in agriculture and open space; a 2020 revision let the phases be built in any order. Lot 7 was assigned commercial uses in that plan, which is why the 2024 proposal was described as replacing a previously approved commercial use with housing.

The City Council held a public hearing on the amendment on December 10, 2024 and voted 4-0, with one member recused, to move the proposal forward; public radio coverage noted that this was not a final approval. In September 2026 the city tracker still listed the project under planning review. No notice of a final council action, environmental determination or building application was found in the records checked.
